Jeffrey Harper, PE is a Vice President with over 30 years of fire protection engineering experience. Mr. Harper's firefighting/public safety experience gives him a unique perspective that he leverages while providing consultative services to the benefit of his clients and protect their occupants. Mr. Harper's project experience includes code compliance evaluations including alternative approaches and negotiating those approaches with building and fire departments for major hospitals, high-rises, federal courthouse/office buildings, very tall buildings, and large mixed-use projects. He is adept at designing fire suppression, fire detection, and fire alarm systems for a broad range of facility types, including those located in areas of the world where fire protection, water supplies and fire pumping systems are not commonly found. His project experience extends to industrial facilities including the development of fire protection programs for high piled and rack storage facilities, rubber tire storage, rolled paper storage, and power generation facilities. During his career, Mr. Harper has coordinated sprinkler and fire alarm system designs for major hospitals, higher education campuses, and several US Embassies. He has also provided consultation and developed building code approaches for cultural and historically significant buildings in which compliance with the letter of the codes was not possible. Finally, Mr. Harper excels at performing fire risk analyses of buildings that are clad in combustible façade materials and coordinating computer fire modeling simulations to assess impacts upon unprotected steel and expected smoke control systems behavior. Working together, Mr. Harper has assisted clients through every stage of the cladding and façade fire risk analysis process, from the initial evaluation, to sample collection and fire testing, risk evaluation, and development of a remediation plan.
