Matt joined Jensen Hughes in 2017. As a Director at Jensen Hughes, Matt not only provides support for a wide range of client consulting projects ranging from Emergency Preparedness, Business Continuity, Life Safety, and other Risk Engineering, he also leads the strategic vision for our ProtectAdvisr platform of digital applications that offer significant efficiencies in managing risk in the built environment. Matt’s background in emergency management, performance improvement, and quality and safety affords him the opportunity to engage with organizations on developing effective and efficient programs to drive success, and build more safe, secure, and resilient communities.
Prior to joining our team, Matt served as Senior CMS Policy Advisor at The Joint Commission in Washington, D.C. Matt’s experience with The Joint Commission afforded him the opportunity to facilitate improvements in the nation’s emergency management preparedness and response capabilities, cyber readiness and response, and the preservation of critical infrastructure. His work in regulation, guidance, policy, and in the development, interpretation, and application of federal emergency management legislation – as well as his hands-on experience – enable him to contribute to the depth of knowledge in the industry. Matt continues to engage local, State, and our Federal government on legislation and regulation to enhance the emergency preparedness resiliency and capabilities across critical infrastructure.
Matt has participated in the National Academies (Institute of Medicine) Forum on Medical and Public Health Preparedness for Catastrophic Events, the Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council, the Baltimore City Coalition on Emergency Preparedness, and the Region III Maryland Coalition on Emergency Preparedness.
