Parnell Street Student Accommodation Dublin

Parnell Street Student Accommodation is an approved development in Dublin that contributes to the ongoing regeneration of the area. The development is located on the site of a former bakery complex, a protected structure dating back to the 20th century.

It is primarily used as student accommodation and consists of blocks up to seven storeys high at the former St. Peter’s Bakery site on Parnell Street. The development addresses the current student accommodation shortages and provides over 270 bed spaces within more than 240 bedrooms. It offers both shared and private study rooms designed to elevate the student living experience. The proposed student scheme features a variety of amenities, including ancillary areas, a TV and games room, lounge and private dining areas.

Our team develops a bespoke fire safety design for this project. The challenge lies in integrating the new design with an existing historical building on Parnell Street, which has numerous conservation requirements that limit a standard code-compliant fire safety design.

The project spans over five blocks, all facing and connected to a central communal landscape and courtyard area. This high-quality student accommodation, which promotes student socialization and intellectual interactions, initially posed a challenge due to limited site access for firefighting tenders. We collaborated extensively with the design team and underwent several meetings with the Dublin Fire Department to address the challenge and find solutions that developed specific designs and installations.

Our team of experts is set to supervise the construction sites from a fire safety perspective, ensuring that the construction is completed in a highly professional manner in collaboration with Lafferty and Novel Student.
