Michael (Mike) is an IAAI-Certified Fire Investigator, Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator, a NAFI-Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator with an extensive background in both public and private sectors. His background includes fire investigations for residential and commercial structures, vehicles, equipment, and appliances. He also reviews site, building, sprinkler, and fire alarm plans. He served as Incident Commander for the FEMA team after an F3 tornado in 2008.
Mike has received specialized training in fire origin and cause determination, large loss fire investigation, vehicle fire investigation, evidence collection, fire science, behavior, dynamics and chemistry, flammability/combustibility of liquids, and witness interviews. He is knowledgeable about standard practices for fire scene investigation, excavation, evidence collection, and chain of custody per industry guidelines such as NFPA 921. He provides investigation and expert witness support to insurance carriers and attorneys.
