Jensen Hughes is pleased to announce that Aaron Vanney, PE, Vice President, Middle East, was named one of Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine’s (CSE) 40 Under 40 for 2018. This prestigious honor in the engineering field is awarded to engineers who stand out in their field and contribute to their community.
With more than 13 years of experience, Vanney is vice president of Jensen Hughes’ Middle East operations. He joined the firm in 2005 as an associate engineer in the Chicago office and was promoted to associate manager of the International Division prior to relocating to the Dubai, United Arab Emirates, office in 2009.
While in Dubai, he took on the role of general manager of the Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices in 2014 and has since expanded his role to overseeing the Middle East Operations. He is responsible for financial budgeting and reporting; staffing; office management for deployments in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha; local registrations and licensing; staff mentoring; and overseeing the launch of new service offerings. Vanney leads a team of approximately 50 staff members located in the Middle East offices. He has consistently grown the offices each year since 2014 and has expanded the services offerings to include hospitality inspections, security, façade assessments, emergency planning, and petroleum, oil, and gas services.
Vanney enjoys traveling with his wife and two children and exploring new cities on foot to gain an appreciation for the local culture. Even though Dubai is surrounded by hot desert, he has found his form of weekly exercise and sport by playing in multiple ice hockey leagues.
