The U.S. Coast Guard (Coast Guard) released a final rule on January 17, 2025, updating its maritime security regulations by establishing minimum cybersecurity requirements for U.S.-flagged vessels, Outer Continental Shelf facilities, and facilities subject to the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 regulations. The rule is slated to take effect in July of 2025.
