Are these changes being adopted by Rhode Island?
This presentation is specific to Massachusetts. Rhode Island adopted the 2018 IBC on February 1, 2022.
Why isn't the building code offered for free?
The base 2021 IBC is available here.
Can you clarify the January 31 vs June 30 as date the new code goes into effect?
As of the time of the webinar, the official approved end date to use the 9th edition was January 31, 2025. A process is underway to extend the 9th edition end date, which we have confidence that once completed will extend the date to June 30, 2025. The 10th edition may be used at any point after October 11, 2024.
Do you know when updated codes, with MA amendments, will be posted on the ICC website?
The ICC does not post the MA amendments as they are front-end (rather than integrated) amendments. Unofficial 780 CMR 10th edition amendments are available here.
