Making the Argument for a Performance Solution

The performance solution report is an important part of a building design and construction. An appropriate performance solution is given the same weight as the Deemed to Satisfy provisions of the Building Code of Australia (BCA).

What is most important, though, is making sure that the expert authoring the report is able to write a comprehensive and cogent argument centering on the relevant performance requirement. The Certifying Authority should not accept a performance report that does not provide a good argument on its merit. A one-sentence argument that starts with ‘in my opinion’ is just not good enough.

As a general guide, a fully accredited member of the Association of Consultants in Access Australia (ACAA) should be expert enough to provide a well-reasoned performance solution report. An accredited access consultant has the ability to look at AS1428 compliance problems using their deep functional knowledge of codes and standards, as well as awareness of international standards.

Our fully accredited access consultants have the ability to look at problems in a variety of ways due to their broad range of skills. Our team includes architects, builders, civil engineers and interior designers, all experts in access and DDA matters.
