Jensen Hughes in Australia offers independent, third-party product certification through the Jensen Hughes FireMark scheme. The scheme assures the performance, quality, reliability and traceability of products and systems. The Jensen Hughes FireMark brand is recognised by regulatory authorities in Australia as a mark of fire safety across a diverse range of passive fire products.
Jensen Hughes FireMark - The Benefit of Certification
Certification through Jensen Hughes FireMark provides a critical benefit - it gives regulators, specifiers, customers, and end-users confidence in the stated performance of a product. This allows them to make an informed choice when purchasing or selecting the product.
Choosing a product with a reputable third-party certification mark provides assurance about the product's performance. Using certified products that are correctly installed demonstrates due diligence.
Why Jensen Hughes FireMark?
Jensen Hughes FireMark helps manufacturers of fire protection products and systems in Australia differentiate their certified offerings from non-certified equivalents, allowing them to access global markets.
Architects, specifiers, contractors, and building owners can also utilise Jensen Hughes FireMark, which provides assurance that properly installed fire protection products and systems will perform as needed, thereby avoiding costly mistakes and dramatically reducing risk.
The Product Certification Process
Certification is the process of certifying that a product has passed relevant fire and/or quality assurance tests based on Australian standards, along with additional criteria defined in the certification scheme.
An important part of the Jensen Hughes FireMark scheme are our ongoing factory auditing requirements. These ensure that a mass-produced product maintains the same quality as its original tested product.
The Jensen Hughes FireMark Scheme
We analyse relevant test and assessment data to define the scope for certifying the product. A FPC (Factory Production Control) audit is performed at each site where the product is manufactured for the Australian market. The audit is conducted in general accordance with ISO 9001, as well as the additional requirements of the Jensen Hughes FireMark scheme.
During the FPC audit, we may sample the product and use those results as evidence towards the certification. The certification is then prepared based on the supporting data, test results, and FPC audit findings. An official certificate will be available from the product register, which helps promote the certification and create awareness for the certified products. A surveillance audit is conducted every 12 months and we will review the product every 5 years. Certified products will carry the Jensen Hughes FireMark brand.
